 I came to Nepal from February to April of 2012 and loved every minute I spent there. Shortly after my arrival, I met Raj through the owners of the hostel I was staying at. (Which I also recommend - it's called the Sparkling Turtle). Raj came to the hostel and with a nice cup of chai tea, he opened up all of his maps, thoroughly explaining what kind of trekking packages he offered. He spoke nicely, described different regions of Nepal as well as what to expect from the different treks. After speaking with me for about an hour Raj tried to create a package that was my suitable for my hiking abilities but that would also challenge me. I wasn't sure where to go so he suggested that I go to the Everest Valley because I was looking for something more rugged. Am I ever glad I went.

After spending even more time with me, Raj partnered me up with a guide that he felt I would get along with. After all, I was the only one going on this trek with the guide so it's important to get along! Raj's suggestion for a guide was very good, I spent about two weeks with Bhairus and we got along very well. Bhairus is a funny guy with a good sense of humor, very knowledgeable and in no time we were sharing inside jokes and I felt like I gained a friend. He is from the valley below Luckla therefor knows the environment of EBC like the back of his hand and is competent in his guiding abilities. We trekked on just the two of us, it was February so hardly anyone was out on the trail, lucky us- we had the whole Everest Valley to our self! Bhairus and I adapted a good pace, stopping when I needed to or spending an extra day here or pushing on a few extra hours to make it to the following destination. He was very flexible and left everything up to me. To make the trip even better, we crossed over the Chola Pass into the Gokyo valley and then crossed the Renjula Pass over to the next valley, For alpine beauty this is really the best scenery I have ever seen. I feel so lucky to have been able to experience this journey and I don't think I would have gone to the Everest Valley had it not been for Raj's recommendation. So thank you both for making my stay in Nepal a positive one, and Bhairus for teaching me Nepali on those cold nights by the wood stoves and for showing me the valley you hold so closely to your heart.

I recommend the Green Valley trekking company to anyone who wants a hassle free time booking an expedition to the Himalayas. Even if it is to a very remote area of Nepal where little tourists go - Raj and his business partners will make it happen! You can also go chat with them in their office in Kathmandu, it's guaranteed you'll be satisfied with the quality of service they offer.

Raj at Green Valley Treks is a wonderful guy who made our Annapurna trip a very enjoyable one! He is a very polite person        who gives you plenty of space to enjoy the beautiful surroundings of Nepal. I have sent many friends to him since and he hasn't let anyone down yet. If you get a chance, don't miss the opportunity to see and experience Nepal, it is a wonderful country with amazing scenery and wonderful people. I highly recommend it to anyone.
